Finally, a real fight to follow. In my opinion, this will be a real war. I think that the UFC hit the spot on with their decision to put Condit against Nick Diaz for the interim title. The UFC 143 event is going to be held at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. By the way, this fight is scheduled for 5, 5 minute rounds in the welterweight division. The winner of this fight is going to fight Georges St-Pierre when he gets better.
Now, I will start this prediction with the stand up aspect. In my opinion, Nick Diaz has a small advantage here since is sturdier than Carlos Condit. However, Carlos Condit is also a great stand up fighter. In fact, he’s the real deal when it comes to being a well rounded fighter. Why am I saying this? Well, because his record shows it. He’s got 13 TKO victories and 13 submission victories, what more could you ask for? All in all, I think that the majority of this fight is going to be a stand up war, with Diaz coming out as a close winner.
The ground game is a mystery to me, since both of them are excellent jiu jitsu fighters. Nick Diaz doesn’t have such a good wrestling, but neither does Carlos Condit. However, because I think that Condit is a bit better in the wrestling department than Nick Diaz, he will win clinching clashes. I just don’t think that it would be a smart idea for Condit to put Diaz down on his back, since Diaz is, contrary to popular belief, a great jiu jitsu fighter.
As I said, this fight is going to be an all-out war from the very start. The very interesting thing about it is that it’s practically impossible to predict accurately. Both of these guys are great on feet, and I don’t agree with people who categorically claim that Diaz is gonna win this fight easily. He’s not. The only advantage I could give to Nick Diaz is that he’s maybe, and just maybe, a more durable fighter. He’s also fought tougher opponents than Carlos Condit in his career.
Overall, don’t forget to tune in for the UFC 143 pay per view show. To predict this fight, Nick Diaz is going to win over Carlso Condit via a unanimous decision after 5 long rounds of pure, all-out war. What do you guys think?

February 2nd, 2012 – Today I read an interesting interview on LasVegasSun. Basically, it’s a long article about the upcoming fight between Condit and Diaz. The writer starts off by saying how much of an attention these 2 guys get, and that it is understandable. Next, Nick Diaz says how he loathes fighters who only want to end the round, and that Condit is not that kind of a guy (that’s why he gets respect from Nick, which is not a common occurrence). February 4th, 2012 – We’re only a few hours before the fight. I’m staying with my predictions, however, I’ve been thinking about this fight for the past few days. Is it possible for Carlos Condit to win this fight? Well, you’ll only know if you actually watch the Diaz vs Condit fight video. However, I can say that I’m really getting more impressed with the way Carlos Condit is training.
I think that he even might win this fight with a TKO in the first round. I think that Diaz will get out powered very early on, which means that Condit will be able to set the pace of the fight. Don’t be surprised if you see that this this fight ends in the first round by a TKO (Carlos Condit of course).
I also watched the UFC Undisputed 3 fight simulation video, and I can’t agree this time. They predict that most of the fight is actually going to happen on the ground, but I really don’t see this happening at all! This fight is strictly going to happen on feet; neither of these fighters are willing to go to the ground if it is not necessary.
